Badminton Geelong has earned major recognition at the 2025 Badminton Victoria Community Awards, taking home multiple honours across club, coaching, and player categories.
The organisation was named Inclusive Club of the Year, applauded for its strong commitment to fostering an environment built on acceptance, respect, and accessibility for all members of the community.
Geelong Badminton Academy head coach Naman Bhardwaj received the Junior Coach of the Year award, acknowledging his exceptional coaching work not only with GBA athletes but also through his contributions at both state and national levels.
Adding to the club’s success, Dannielle McRandall-Tingate was presented with the Most Valuable Senior Player award. Her efforts in organising raffle prizes, selling tickets, and raising $750 for the Monday Ladies competition were highlighted as key reasons for the recognition.
Badminton Victoria CEO Clint Proctor praised Badminton Geelong for its ongoing impact on the sport, noting that the awards reflect the club’s dedication and positive influence across the badminton community. “Your work has been outstanding, and this recognition is very well deserved,” he said.
The awards were presented at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) during the Victorian Open Finals on Sunday, 9 November.
