Badminton Geelong to host new Country Victoria training hub

Badminton Geelong has been named the new Country Victoria Team Hub, with all training, camps and selection activities to be based at the Geelong venue.

Badminton Victoria CEO Clint Proctor said the partnership is part of a plan to see a Country Victoria team compete on the national stage by 2027.

“Our goal is to create more opportunities for clubs, players, coaches and volunteers across regional Victoria,” Mr Proctor said, adding that coaching courses and training sessions will also be held in Geelong this year.

Badminton Geelong Development Officer and head coach Naman Bhardwaj said the club was proud to be chosen as the squad’s home and looked forward to helping grow the program.

The announcement follows a series of country junior tournaments, where Geelong players have enjoyed strong success and earned selection to the Country Victoria team for state titles.
